I´m María Canal Caicedo. My professional and academic trajectory during the last 16 years has been dedicated to work for the protection of communities in vulnerable conditions, considering Human Rights and aspects such as equity of gender, sustainable development and historical memory.
I have researched around the world the reasons why vulnerable communities and their inhabitants suffer violations of their Human Rights. In that sense, the main motivation of my research has been to find a path were affirmative actions can contribute to mitigate such situations.
